Yuvaraj Velu

Yuvaraj Velu is a contemporary artist known for his dynamic works with the KINETICS collective, contributing his distinctive style to this influential group. His achievements include winning the 48th National Award in 2006 and participating in prominent events like the 11th Oita Asian Sculpture Exhibition in Japan (2012) and the 51st National Art Exhibition (2008-09). He also participated in various art contests, such as the 22nd All India Art Contest in Nagpur (2008) and the 20th All India Art Contest in Nagpur (2006). His participation extends to several workshops, including the National Metal Casting Camp in Imphal, Manipur (2017), the Tamil Nadu Oviya Nunkalai Kuzhu in Chennai (2006), and a Regional Wood Camp by Lalit Kala Akademi at Dakshinachitra (2011).

Yuvaraj Velu’s solo exhibitions include "Ashvita Art Object & Artifacts" in Chennai (2007) and a solo show at Artistic Art Gallery, Chennai (2005). He has also been part of several group exhibitions, including "Madras As An Emotion" at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai (2024), "Meraki" at Veda Gallery, Chennai (2023), and "Confluence of the Past and Present" at Artworld Gallery, Chennai (2023). Other notable exhibitions include "Kynkyny Gallery" in Bangalore (2023), "India Art Fair" with Veda Gallery, Delhi (2019) and 2024, and "Madras Art Guild" at VR Mall, Chennai (2019). He has been featured in "The Art of Chess" at Apparao Gallery, Chennai (2015), and group shows like "Constructing Forms" at Kalakriti, Hyderabad (2014), and "Form and Function" at Gallery Veda, Chennai (2014). His early exhibitions include "Elementary Thoughts" at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai (2003), and "Thumb & Four Fingers" at Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai (2002). Most recently, his work was featured in Art Mumbai (2024), represented by Palette Art Gallery.
