Both historically and contemporarily there are strong links between Art and senses of place and identities. As an artist, having recognized the importance of culture, space and  place in relation to making Art, has been a very important process.
My works have a strong link between the sense of place, culture and its identities. The main character for my works are female oriented or female related subject, and the approach towards my works in terms of technique and medium has been very feminine.

Textile, stitching, embroidery are mediums which are constantly been associated with women and women's jobs. Both in my painting and textile set of works there are very conscious attempts to adopt elements and mediums which are associated with women. As both subject and medium are female oriented, there has been a beautiful amalgamation of it to make my work more expressive.

My works has exaggerated usage and rendering of patterns for the beautification, again depicting more femininity. Apart from all these feminine elements, there is a influence of my culture and its regional identity; and colors have played a very important role in representing these elements.

Both 'Celebration in the Land of Red' and 'Gruhalakshi' personifies the same.
