Education:

2014-2016 Masters Of Fine Arts From Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkat India

2010-2014 Bachelor Of Fine Arts Gov College Of Art And Craft, Tripura India

Joydip’s artistic journey captures the clash between towering human constructions and the relentless forces of decay. His work is rooted in Vadodara, Gujarat, where he closely observes the transformations of landscapes and the tension between monumental structures and their eventual decline. Born in Tripura, Joydip completed his Bachelor’s degree from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Tripura, and a Master’s from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has received recognition for his work, including the Prafulla Dahanukar Award and the EMAMI Annual Merit Award.
Joydip’s art uses geometric patterns and materials like charcoal, acrylics, and residues gathered from construction sites and endangered landscapes. Through these layered canvases, he portrays himself as a silent observer, contemplating the impact of unplanned urbanization and the unintended consequences of architectural growth. His paintings reflect complex emotions toward urban structures, capturing city life and architectural designs as symbols of both human achievement and fragility.
His work has been showcased in several prominent group exhibitions, including the Art Mumbai 2024 and 2023, India Art Fair (2024 and 2023), Paradise Regained at Palette Art Gallery, New Delhi ( 2024) ARCHITECTONICS at Palette Art Gallery (2023), Fragments of Imagination at Palette Art Gallery (2021), and the Kochi Student Biennale (2016-17).

With a keen focus on modern architectural patterns, Joydip’s art reveals the intricate relationship between human design and nature, using broken lines, bold forms, and muted tones to capture the changing urban landscape. His art invites viewers to confront the powerful yet delicate balance between creation and collapse in today’s urban environment.
