In the year 2001, Palette Art Gallery was conceptualized and conceived in the capital city of New Delhi, India.
A contemporary space with a modern tone, the gallery attempted to give voice to the emerging talent of the day balanced with a roster of shows that presented the Masters of India Art through pre and post independence.
Always innovative and always striving towards new paradigms, the Palette Art Gallery has, in its journey, reached many milestones and many goals.
The brainchild of gallery directors, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, the institution is spectacularly situated at a location, overlooking the peaceful greens of the historic Delhi Golf Club. Its very setting brings an element of Zen to its interiors and the sharp, minimalist design makes it a perfect canvas to showcase the very best in art.
Palette has prided itself to present different medium of artistic expression ranging from the traditional to the experimental. Oils, watercolors, video, photography and performance art have all found a home at the galley.
Special mention should be made of ground breaking shows such as The Bombay Boys in 2004 which exhibited the works of Sudarshan Shetty, T V Santosh , Riyas Komu and many more. The Works by Ten Masters. A Retrospective of the Works of Anupam Sud. The Absence of an Architect by Gigi Scaria. Systematic Citizen, a solo show by Riyaz Komu. Mapping the Conscience by Manjit Bawa which was also the great artist’s last solo and more recently Lost in an Urban Maze, a group show with some of the best Indian talent. Other significant efforts were, The New Order Beauty, a 12 artists show which included seven International artists and Spell Of Spill - Utopia Of Ecology , Curated By Veeranganakumari Solanki.
